Is there a lightweight rowboat, canoe, kayak?
I am a 5’3″ very slight woman who enjoys rowing. I would like to purchase a small craft to row. It can haul it in my father’s truck or Cherokee; however, I need to be able to lift it out of the back and place it in the river about 50 feet away. Do you know of a lightweight boat that could be used in this manner? (I have back pain from stiff muscles, so while working out will help, it really needs to be light when I have to pick it up.) Thanks a bunch!
you may also want to consider a rowing shell…….like the colleges use….a single scull weighs about 40 pounds and , with the sliding seat…..google search “Head of the Charles” for some great pictures….. does great things for thighs and backs…..there is also a slightly more robust version called the Alden Ocean Shell……Wooden Boat magazine has a number of builder adds for small lightweight sliding seat shells and boats…..
