Summer jobs: When is hiring done?
I’m a first year college student who really needs a summer job this year, I haven’t worked for pay yet, and I’m going to need something to put on my resume and for refs.
I inquired and applied at 3 places back in January.
1. A Kayaking Club (Boat washer/intern. No application, just said to call back around April 1st)
2. Water park (Lifeguard, applied)
3. Town Recreation Dept (Attendant, applied)
Now first I’m going to call the kayak place on the 1st and see if he will take me. (He would tell me to call back if he knew he didn’t need anyone right?)
Now as for the other two, it’s almost april… is it worth still waiting on them or should I send out more apps? Is it too late to hope to be hired by them this summer?

Yes to applying for more jobs now. The rush for summer jobs normally does not start till after Easter, so if you apply now, you will be one of the 1st to apply, which is good.
