My processor performance has been dropping lately, any suggestions?
I like to play computer games like CS:S and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but lately I’ve noticed my performance on a steady decline. I figured it was because of a dated video card (x800 pro) so I stopped playing stalker and found that CS:S runs at around 10-20 fps as compared to its 40-50 fps I had six months ago on the same system. I even borrowed a friends card to test it out and it had the same speeds of 10-20 fps. I have decided it is not my video card, but rather something else. I’m guessing that the processor is the problem and it is just a result of my computer getting old. Any suggestion on what to do to boost performance? And can new processors be installed easily on computers if it is the problem?
well, the newest intel core 2 duo probably won’t be compatible with your motherboard so it’s not an option unless you want to buy another motherboard. to increase the performance of your computer, try uninstalling all the programs that you don’t use. run an antivirus program. use a good cooling system so your processor won’t overheat because it gets damaged if it does.
