Ideas with improving fishing boat?
Hi. I recently bought a 8ft double skin poly dinghy for a bit of river fishing. I’ve matched it with a 55lb thrust trolling motor and its been great. However, I have to say it doesn’t look that all good/cool. I’ve been thinking of carperting the floor and repainting the whole boat a certain colour (white). It would be greatly appreciated if you can give me some good detailed ideas with improving the look of my boat and setup. Its really just a small regular poly dinghy with cup holders on the sides, painted white inside and water bucket gray outsides
Whatever you do, do NOT carpet the floor especially if you do a lot of fishing! Fishing boats need a “washdown deck”, not a carpet. Thing of all the nasty stuff like fish blood, bait, etc that will get into the carpet. Not sure what kind of deck you have now, but you could consider a flat bottom deck like fitting plywood down, and painting the plywood.
Other than that, yes I would paint the boat some nice color, adding a cool name if you haven’t done so already (you could order a boat name online that comes with professional looking decals/name prints).
How about the lights and other electronics like wiring up a stereo, etc.?
