Do I need a boat permit in PA?
Im about to buy a 10ft inflatable raft with a motor mount. I will be using a 28lb thrust electric trolling motor, and I will be fishing in a lake supervised by the fish and game commission in Pennsylvania. This lake does not allow gas motors, however electric trolling motors are allowed. What do I need in order to be legal on the water? a license? a permit? some kind of registration? and how do I go about getting these things? how much do they cost? Im am 24 yrs old and love fishing but I have absolutely no boating experience.

you do not need to take the boaters safety course but it is a good course and the information will help you to operate you boat safely. boat us has a free course that you can take.
