I am looking to buy a 9.9 hp Motor for my boat and i cant which one 2 buy ?
I am looking to buy a Motor for my boat i have 2 one is a zodiac 310 and a aluminum boat that’s approx 12 ft. ……..and i cant decide on the brand of the motor to buy……… here are couple questions i have:
Q: Which is better a two stroke motor or a four stroke motor?
Q: Which is consider the best choice of a brand to buy? and Why? (example: Honda or Mercury or Yamaha)
Q: What warranty dose the certain brand offer?
Q1: Two stroke engines are different than four stroke in some ways. Two strokes are louder, but also lighter. Four strokes are heavier, but also quieter. It’s all about compromises. Another trade-off with two strokes is that you have to mix oil with the gas whenever you fill it up, which can become a pain. Four strokes require no mixing, just straight gas.
Q2: For small outboards, I cant really tell you about the best brand. I don’t think it really matters. As for large outboards, Yamaha’s are known for their reliability. I have twin 225hp Yamaha’s on my boat which could make me a little biased.
Q3: Check with the marine store your buying it from if buying new. Different brands have different warranty’s.
