How do I properly set and adjust the blades of a really old wood plane?
Do people not use these anymore?
It is my grandpas and I remember using it a long time ago and it worked great then, but no matter how i adjust it I can’t get it to plane wood right -I’m using it on a solid wood door right now to trim the edge.
It is all metal except wooden handles, about 14″ long and has the brand name victor. There is a screw and a lever that closes down on the top blade. And then a wheel that twists perpindicular to the planing surface and a lever that moves side to side across the directions of the blades.

my dad has one and i know a friend who has loads of hand tools as he does boat work on older boats…they would know but both are away at this time….sorry…try the diy board
