Is riding bareback good for my horse?
One of my horses is 17 years old and i much rather prefer to school and trek bareback.
He fractured his back by his withers at about 7years of age in a floating accident.
he is a very high withered horse and 16.1h (very hard to find saddles that fit) he is very fidgety when i do up my girth
I am a light rider (56kg) and have a very good seat. have done lots of trekking bareback and it seems alot more comfortable than riding in a sadle as i have more contact
well its is not very pleasant for the horse but it will hurt him/her eventually thats why saddles were made to protect a horses back from the rider bouncing up and down sometimes as he/she is riding.
