Is it child abuse if you get “spanked” with a paddle?
My dad got an all wooden paddle around last year. and ow almost every time i get in trouble i get paddled. Sometimes i have bruises and my butt gets swollen. I don’t want to live with y dad period anymore and i already have a different place where i can stay but he won’t let me live any where else but with him. he doesn’t know about my plans to live with my best friend i talked to her mom about all the drama that’s been going n at home and she wants me to come and stay with them. I’m really tired of being hit with the paddle and i know i should stop getting in trouble and it won’t happen but we live with my stepmom and her daughter and my step sister and i both believe that she sets me up to get me in trouble.. so i rally need to know if hiting your kid with a wooden paddle is considered child abuse so that i can call child protective service and get out of this situation. and please only put what you KNOW not what you think because i need to know for sure. thank you and lease help.
As a nurse I was a Federally mandated reporter of child abuse, and I say yes. There is no good reason for an able-bodied grown man to hit a girl with a paddle. Tell your Dad to give guardianship to your friends Mom or you will call the police next time he paddles you or hurts you. He may beat you for saying this, but it’ll be the last time.
If you do get put in foster care, your friend’s Mom can apply to the court to be your foster parent. Then the State will pay her for your keep. Not a lot , but enough to feed and clothe you. And you will have medical coverage.
